The professor of the faculty of a special piano of Krasnoyarsk academy of music and theatre Eugeny Lauk:

You are asking me about whether the modern youth really needs serious classical music? I’ll ask you a counter question – whether we need variety, jazz, rock, pop? - and I shall answer it myself, yes, certainly, they are necessary. But classical music will always stand on the first place (under classical I mean the music which has been checked up by centuries, from Bach up to now). Comparing the impressions from the influence of classical and, symbolically speaking, entertaining music (jazz, rock, variety) I have come to a conclusion that just in classical music there is concentrated all riches of human Spirit, there is a bottomless ocean of human feelings, emotions and experiences. In classical music man appears in all the greatness and infinity of his private world. Classical music doesn’t allow us to forget that we are God’s creation and it has the applicability to protect culture of mankind from tendencies of self-destruction.
Having returned from Vladivostok after graduation examinations, I have had time to visit only last three concerts with the Italian musicians. If to judge on the reaction of our Krasnoyarsk public who has visited the given concerts of the festival "Siberia - Europe" it is possible to answer absolutely affirmatively - classical music is necessary! And the public, by the way, was very different - doctors, scientists, students of various high schools (not only musical!), schoolchildren, children and their parents. The program introduced by David Bellugi and I.Battiston amazes with a variety of genres from high Bach- through “Tango” by A. Piazzola to the Concert by N. Rota for an orchestra (known to us only by music to F. Fellini's films) to avant-garde - "Titurus" by K.Prosperi for four flutes, written specially for D.Bellugi .It was a generous gift, to the delight of young listeners, performed musical “Jokes” by I..Battiston devoted to the chamber orchestra, and eccentric talented improvisation of «BB-show». Absolutely special atmosphere was at the final concert on June, 18th. The concert "Spring" by A. Vivaldi was penetrated with high spirit of joint playing music of young, but rather titled violinist R. Binjumova and outstanding conductor A.Pestalozza. There was an original ensemble, commonwealth and competition of the soloist and the orchestra and there was very exciting and, at the same time, strong-willed interpretation of immortal music. Bravo, Rimma! Bravo Maestro! There was surprisingly flexibly "Serenade» by Elgar sounded, there was fresh and original "Suite" by Yanachek and there was completely shocking with boundless beauty, deep tragic element and truthfulness Mahler's "Adagio". Till now I am under the big impression from these concerts. Strong, original feelings will be remembered for a long time! Here is low bow and gratitude to the organizers of the festival of chamber -orchestral music."
