Michael Benyumov (Conductor, Krasnoyarsk)

Honoured Worker of Russia, professor Michael Benyumov graduated from Russian Academy of music after the Gnesins (Moscow) and then post graduated. Since 1971 has been teaching at higher educational institutions; has a scientific degree of Candidate of art criticism. From 1982 to 2010 was the Head of the Chair of the string instruments of the Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Music and Theatre. Among his pupils there are winners of international, All-Russian and regional competitions. Michael Benyumov is the founder and the permanent Head of the Krasnoyarsk chamber orchestra. He has active concert activity as a conductor, a soloist and a chamber performer. He goes on tour in Russia and abroad (Italy, Germany, Spain). The winner of the prize of Mayor of the City (2000, 2003), was awarded with the honorary title "Recognition" of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk region (2004).
